In defence of Lisa McGee’s new Netflix show

‘I laughed out loud at a brilliantly funny script’

Sir, – I have to disagree with Ed Powers’s review of Lisa McGee’s new Netflix show How to Get to Heaven from Belfast. He called it “underwhelming and tonally disorienting”.

I watched the first few episodes last night and loved it. I laughed out loud at a brilliantly funny script that showed a realistic portrayal of long-time “older” women’s friendships. The plot belted along and the lead female actors involved are fantastic.

We should be very proud of McGee and thank her for showing the rest of the world just how funny we all are! – Yours, etc,
