February is wine time, but low-alcohol looks like the way to go. Any suggestions?

Since the Six Nations may not offer much to celebrate, perhaps more of us could follow the moderation trend

Sir, – As the abstemious month of January is now over many people might resume their usual patterns of consumption over the next few weekends. However, recent years have seen a moderation in alcohol consumption across society - strong growth in zero-alcohol beers and declining ethanol intake at population level.

Given that the Six Nations has the appearance of being an uncelebrated tournament for Ireland, even by the first weekend, this February might be a month of low level, or more moderate alcohol use for many people.

I wonder if the wine experts at The Irish Times might therefore recommend some really high quality half-bottles available at local vintners? Most small bottles sold here are of the most basic standard. Savouring small volumes of good wine might be a pattern of healthier behavior to encourage in those resuming their intake. – Yours, etc,
