Sir, – In response to views (Letters, January 7th) aired by some anti-Antipodean correspondents, I wish to offer a case for the defence.
Since the recent disappearance of beloved Aussie soap Neighbours from our TV screens, not to mention this gloomy January weather, I find your paper’s daily drip-feed of diaspora-flavoured feelgood from Down Under to be a vital tonic.
With this in mind, I urge you to renew the prescription and continue the current dose throughout 2026 – if only to provide an antidote for my Ramsay Street withdrawal. – Yours, etc,
