Talking shops and a weakened Dáil

Sir, – Is our Government slowly shifting influence away from our public representatives to a plethora of citizens’ assemblies and now a Consultative Forum on International Security Policy?

Whatever about the merits of such talking shops, surely more time should be provided to debate important issues within the Houses of Oireachtas? - Yours, etc,
