Media mogul Rupert Murdoch has apologised after he suggested US president Barack Obama was not a 'real black president'.
In a tweet praising Republican candidate for the 2016 presidency race , Ben Carson, he said: "Ben and Candy Carson terrific. What about a real black President who can properly address the racial divide?"
Mr Obama had a white American mother and a Kenyan father who was studying in the US while Mr Carson’s parents were both US-born African Americans.

On Thursday, after much reaction to his remark, Mr Murdoch tweeted: “Apologies! No offence meant. Personally find both men charming.”
