A woman whose grandson is in care was escorted from the High Court yesterday after she lunged at a female social worker and shouted at the judge and lawyers. At one stage she shouted "Sex abusers". She was subsequently escorted from the courtroom. She later came back to court and apologised to Mrs Justice McGuinness, who warned the woman against a recurrence.

The mother and grandmother of the boy were in court in relation to their application for improved access to him while he is in care. It is understood that lawyers who had acted for them had been dispensed with. The case was adjourned to April.
