A young woman was last night in a comfortable condition at the South Infirmary Hospital in Cork after being airlifted from the St Killian ferry 50 miles off the south coast when she complained of severe abdominal pains.
The woman is a stewardess in her early 20s from Tuam. Two doctors on board advised that she be removed from the ship and hospitalised as a precautionary measure. The Shannon-based Irish Marine Emergency Services Rescue helicopter brought her to Cork.
