A Welsh lecturer was charged by British police today as part of their investigation into an alleged fraud on the hit TV show "Who Wants to be a Millionaire?"

Mr Tecwen Wittock (52) from Cardiff, was charged with conspiracy and obtaining a valuable security by deception, Scotland Yard said.

He was bailed to appear before Bow Street Magistrates Court in London on August 7th.

The police inquiry centres around allegations that Major Charles Ingram (38) cheated to win the one million pound sterling top prize on the ITV show.

Major Ingram, of Easterton, Wiltshire, his wife Diana (38) and a 35-year-old man were due to answer police bail later today in connection with the police investigation.
