Six Nations Championship
France 35 Wales 43
Wales produced a breath-taking performance to win an unforgettable Six Nations Championship clash 43-35 against France in Paris today.
Wales trailed by 10 points at half-time but they were inspired by scrum-half Rob Howley's solo try, and three more touchdowns followed in the second period from number eight Scott Quinnell, wing Dafydd James and Neil Jenkins.
Jenkins finished with 28 points - a try, two drop goals, three penalties and all four conversions - as he passed 1,000 points for Wales in the process.
Still the drama would not subside, and two minutes from time Jenkins dropped a 40-metre goal to put Wales back in front 36-35.
Then in injury time Jenkins came up trumps again, scoring Wales' fourth try when France blundered in defence.
The ball fell loose, and Jenkins was worked clear for a try that he also converted.
This incredible game now stood at 43-35 in Wales' favour, a breath-taking 50 points having been scored in the second half alone.
France, whose next Six Nations appointment is with England at Twickenham in two weeks' time, had shot their bolt - and Wales could celebrate a truly unforgettable 43-35 victory, their first win in the championship this term after losing to England and then drawing against Scotland. PA
