Viable device made safe in Wicklow

Army experts made safe a home-made bomb at a house in Co Wicklow last night.

Army experts made safe a home-made bomb at a house in Co Wicklow last night.

The improvised explosive was discovered at a home in Rathduffmore in Knockananna at around 6.30pm.

Defence Forces specialists were called to the property and declared the scene safe shortly afterwards.

No controlled explosion was carried out on the device, which was been handed over to gardai for an investigation.
