Washington - The US Secretary of State, Ms Madeleine Albright, and the Israeli leader, Mr Benjamin Netanyahu, failed to bridge all the gaps in talks yesterday on a US peace plan and will try again at a meeting today, Ms Albright's spokesman said.

Mr Netanyahu's adviser, Mr David Bar-Illan, said the 90 minutes of talks made some progress, with both sides keen to agree on details of the next Israeli withdrawal from the West Bank.
