Gilead Sciences, a US biotechnology firm, is to establish a financial centre for its European businesses in Carrigtwohill, Co Cork that will lead to the creation of 30 jobs.
The company already employs 125 people in Carrigtwohill where it manufactures HIV medication at reduced costs for countries in the developing world.
Julie O'Neill, Gilead Sciences' general manager in Ireland, said the decision to choose Cork for its European financial shared services centre was based on the “availability of skills and the presence of several global international companies”.
