Food poisoning:Up to 180 people have been stricken with E.coli food poisoning in Northern Ireland in the worst recorded outbreak of the illness to hit the North.

Eight people were hospitalised due to the food poisoning which the North's Public Health Agency has linked to Flicks restaurant in Cityside Mall in north Belfast. In all there are 25 confirmed and 179 probable cases of E.coli infection. Just one adult now remains in hospital due to the illness.

The restaurant closed voluntarily as environmental health officers from Belfast City Council continue to investigate the outbreak. Those hit with the illness include eight children under the age of 14. Symptoms include severe abdominal pains, nausea, vomiting and diarrhoea with bleeding.
