South Africa international Quinton Fortune is to be offered a new four-year contract by Manchester United.
The 25-year-old midfielder has had limited first-team opportunities but manager Sir Alex Ferguson sees him as a valuable member of his squad at Old Trafford.
Ferguson said: "Quinton had a great World Cup for South Africa. He will be staying at United and we are about to offer him a new four-year contract.
"Quinton is still a developing player, but he is improving. Unfortunately he picked up an injury during the World Cup and had to miss a few of our games," he told the club's website.
