Nairobi - Four Western United Nations workers were still being held hostage in Mogadishu last night, writes Declan Walsh. Negotiations were continuing between the UN and gunmen loyal to Muse Sudi Yalahow, one of several Somali warlords opposing the interim government.

The hostages, two Britons, one Belgian and a French-Algerian, were captured in an ambush on Tuesday in Mogadishu.
