A man (19) was shot in both ankles and beaten about the head in Downpatrick, Co Down, on the Model Farm estate in the town around 8.45 p.m. His injuries are not life-threatening.

Another man (26) was earlier abducted and shot in a paramilitary style attack in west Belfast.

The police say the victim was dragged from a shop by a group of men at Britton's Parade in Ballymurphy around 2 p.m. yesterday. He was shot in a hand and ankle and found in the New Barnsley area around 8 p.m.
