A second man has been arrested over the discovery of a man's in a house in Co Louth early this morning.
The man, whose was found dead in the house on Castletown Road, Dundalk, has not been identified, according to gardaí.
However they believe he is a 45-year-old local man.
A post mortem examination will be carried out by Deputy State Pathologist Dr Michael Curtis later today.
Early indications suggest the man received serious injuries and may have been beaten. A murder investigation is expected to be launched later.
A 36-year-old man was arrested this morning and later a second man was held. Both are being questioned in Dundalk Garda Station under Section 4, Criminal Justice Act.
The man's body was found when officers were called to the house at 12.30am. The scene has been sealed off and the body is still at the scene. A crime scene examination by the Garda Technical Bureau is also due to take place.
