Two held over Swedish man's death in Wexford

Gardaí investigating the death of a Swedish man in New Ross have arrested two people in connection with the incident.

Gardaí investigating the death of a Swedish man in New Ross have arrested two people in connection with the incident.

Mr Eric Magnus Forsmark (31) died as a result of injuries sustained in an early-morning fracas outside a pub in New Ross on Sunday July 20th. Mr Forsmark was placed on a life-support machine after the assault but died two days later.

The two people arrested today are a man and woman said to be in their early twenties. The two are being detained at New Ross and Wexford Garda Stations respectively.

This brings to a total of eight the number of people arrested in connection with the incident. So far nobody has been charged with any crime.

Mr Forsmark was working in New Ross as a casual street trader during the three-day festival in the town .
