Two men arrested by detectives investigating the murder of a police officer in Northern Ireland have been released without charge, police said.

Constable Stephen Carroll was gunned down by dissident republicans last March as he answered a call in Craigavon, Co Armagh.

The suspects, in their 20s and 30s, were taken to Antrim police station for questioning on Tuesday, but police said last night they had been released.
