A man was killed in a car crash after he apparently lost control of the car he was driving, in Kiltormer near Ballinasloe, Co Galway early today.
The accident happened at about 1.30 a.m. There were no other cars involved.
Earlier, a man in his thirties died when the car he was driving went out of control and hit a wall in Palacekenry, Co Limerick.
There were no other vehicles involved in the incident which happened just before midnight.
