Two dead after crashes in Galway, Carlow

A 19-year-old man has been killed in an early-morning crash in Co Carlow.

A 19-year-old man has been killed in an early-morning crash in Co Carlow.

The man died when the car he was driving went out of control and hit a tree on the main Carlow to Kilkenny road at 6.45 a.m.

A 19-year-old man, who was a passenger in the car was injured. He was taken to St Luke's Hospital in Kilkenny.

Last night as 30-year-old motorcyclis died in a crash at Lissoughter outside Recess, Co Galway. There were no other vehicle involved. Gardaí at Clifden are investigating the man's death.

Neither victim of the crashes has been named.
