Two teenagers appeared in court last night in connection with a collision between a stolen van and a Garda car in Co Westmeath.
Three gardaí were injured in the incident near Kinnegad early yesterday morning.
At a special sitting of Mullingar District Court last night, Danny Jones (19) of Gardiner Place, Dublin, was charged with the unlawful taking of a motor vehicle. Eoghan Doherty (18) from Elm Mount Court, Beaumont, Dublin, was charged with allowing himself to be carried in a stolen vehicle.
Both men were remanded in custody.
