Gardaí in Limerick have seized over 100,000 Ecstasy tablets worth about £1m in a raid on a farmhouse in Meelick in County Clare.

Two men, one in his twenties, the other in his thirties were arrested following the seizure.

Both men, who are believed to be local, were arrested at around 5pm following ongoing investigations into criminal activity in the Limerick area.

The pair are being held in Henry Street Garda Station in Limerick under Section 2 of the Drugs Trafficking Act.

The farmhouse where the arrests were made has been sealed off and is being examined by the Garda Drugs Task Force.
