Tributes were paid from around the world yesterday to music promoter and businessman Tom Pigott, who died on board a cruise ship at the weekend.
Mr Pigott (63), from Limerick, died in the early hours of Saturday while on the Norwegian Pearlcruise liner, which tours the Caribbean, with his partner.
The owner of Enchanted Way Tours, a Clare-based business that attracts mostly US tourists on music and cultural tours of Ireland, he suffered a heart attack just hours after the liner left Miami. He had sung with singer Mary Black in front of friends just before his death.
Billy Hogan, a friend, said they had been planning a US road trip together.
Tributes poured in from musicians around the world.
US actor and musician Ronny Cox, who starred in the "banjo scene" from the 1972 cult movie Deliverance, paid tribute to Mr Pigott online.
