Tourists had a lucky escape yesterday when their Bus Eireann tour bus went on fire as they were returning from a tour of Co Donegal. The tourists were returning to Dublin when the bus caught fire along the Cavan to Butlersbridge road.
While the bus was destroyed in the blaze, it is believed no one was injured. The emergency services closed the road for some hours while the fire was dealt with. The tourists were accommodated by Bus Eireann in hotels in Cavan town last night.
