Bolton midfielder Stig Tofting has been formally charged with violent assault following a incident at the Cafe Ketchup in Copenhagen last month.

Tofting was with nine team-mates from the Danish World Cup team when he allegedly became involved in a scuffle with cafe manager Patrick de Neef and head chef Michael Wilson on June 23rd.

Everton's Thomas Gravesen and Glasgow Rangers' forward Peter Lovenkrands were both present but while Gravesen claims not to have seen anything, Lovenkrands told Danish newspaper BT: "The only thing I saw was some scuffle and that Stig was involved."

Tofting is due in court in October and if found guilty could face imprisonment.
