Today FM has lost one of its key presenters to Newstalk.
Tom Dunne, who hosts the Pet Soundsmusic show in the 7pm-10pm Monday to Thursday slot, will begin presenting a new morning talk show on Newstalk in September.
Newstalk said in a statement it would be a “magazine-style talk show”, covering topical news items, lifestyle, sport and entertainment.
Dunne said he was “very excited” about the move.
Newstalk chief executive Elaine Geraghty said the show marks “a new departure for Newstalk’s morning schedule”.
“We are confident that this new programme presented by Tom in his own inimitable way will continue to grow our national audience.”
A number of guest presenters, including author Joseph O’Connor, are standing in for Dunne on his programme this week as he is on leave.
