Three men were still being questioned in Galway last night in relation to a drugs seizure in the city centre on Monday night.
The three men were arrested in the docks area of the city when some 50kg of cannabis resin, with an estimated market value of €350,000 to €500,000 were seized by gardaí. Two vehicles were also impounded.
The men were detained at Mill Street Garda station under Section 2 of the Criminal Justice (Drug Trafficking) Act, 1996. This allows for questioning for up to seven days. The men are aged 22, 49 and 51. One has an address in Co Galway, while the two others are from Co Dublin.
