Czech police said today they had seized some 75 pounds of the plastic explosive Semtex.
The police said the seizure of the explosive was made in April at a petrol station on the main motorway that connects Prague with the country's second largest city, Brno.
The announcement was delayed until now to allow for an investigation into the incident.
The police added that two men and one woman had been arrested for trying to sell the explosives, along with 267 electric detonators and 150 grams of the highly flammable chemical rubidium. Czech police gave no further details.
