Australia's Ian Thorpe and Dutchwoman Inge de Bruijn have been named World Swimmers of the Year.
Thorpe has won the award three times in the last four years while De Bruijn is collecting for the second time.
Thorpe won an unprecedented six gold medals at this year's world championships in Fukuoka, Japan. The 18-year-old won three Olympic gold medals in Sydney last year.
De Bruijn, 28, won three individual gold medals in Sydney and set 11 world records in 2000. She was a triple gold medallist in Fukuoka this year.
