The chairman of Campus & Stadium Ireland Development has responded to a draft report by the Attorney General on the award of the contract to operate the Aquatic Centre at Abbotstown, Dublin.
The Attorney General is expected to incorporate this response and those from other relevant parties into the report before its publication, a Government spokesman told ireland.com.
Mr Teahon, who is currently at a meeting of the Public Accounts Committee, was initially expected to respond to the report by noon today, but indicated last night his response would take more time.
It had been planned that the report would be published before today’s meeting of the Public Accounts Committee.
Yesterday, Mr Teahon strongly defended his decision to award the contract for the building of the aquatic centre to Waterworld UK, a London-registered shelf company. He also repeated that he will not resign.
Speaking before the Public Accounts Committee, he apologised for any embarrassment that had arisen by his failure to explicitly use the word "dormant" to describe Waterworld UK.
"My purpose at all times was to handle this matter as efficiently and exeditiously as possible but I now accept that if I had explained the position fully . . . then much if not all of the concerns that have arisen in the recent past could have been avoided," he said.
