Taxi drivers protesting at deregulation in the industry are to hold a second four-hour stoppage at Dublin airport this evening.

The protest is being organised by members of SIPTU's taxi drivers branch and will be held between 7 p.m. and 11 p.m.

Yesterday, as few as 10 drivers mounted a picket at a roundabout at the entrance to the Dublin Airport, in what was the first of three strikes there.

The taxi drivers are protesting against what they see as an increasing number of new taxi drivers who are engaged in criminal activity.

A further stoppage is planned for next Monday morning at Dublin Airport, from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.
