Geneva - The Swiss will decide tomorrow whether to scrap their army when they go to the polls to vote on a raft of referendum issues. Arguing that Switzerland's sovereignty would be weakened, the government and parliament have called on voters to reject the motion.

Proponents of change said the time was never riper for getting rid of the military force, which they argued costs nine billion Swiss francs (€6.4 billion) a year.
