Swimming baths `unsafe' for use

What was once one of Limerick's most popular bathing areas is unsafe

What was once one of Limerick's most popular bathing areas is unsafe. Over the years Corbally Baths, a traditional swimming area, have deteriorated.

A Limerick Corporation spokesman warned the baths were not safe to swim in.

A Labour TD, Ms Jan O'Sullivan, wants the baths refurbished and will be putting a motion to Limerick City Council. She said she had "vivid memories of going on family outings to Corbally Baths and spending a full day there".

It is expected the water quality will improve when the £100 million Limerick main drainage scheme is completed in four to five years.
