Boxing:Bernard Hopkins got his revenge against Roy Jones Jr with a unanimous points decision in Las Vegas on Saturday night.

Jones defeated Hopkins to win the IBF middleweight title way back in 1993 but there was no repeat of that outcome in 2010 as 'The Executioner' took the glory.

Hopkins now has his sights set on a bout with WBA world heavyweight king David Haye, who retained his title with a brutal victory over John Ruiz in Manchester on Saturday night.

"The rematch was well worth it. It was sweet revenge for me. I want David Haye, the heavyweight champion of the world," the 45-year-old said.

Hopkins dominated from the start of the bout but he fell to the canvas in the sixth round after Jones landed a punch on the back of his head.

He took several minutes to get back to his feet but showed plenty of aggression at the end of the round with both men exchanging punches after the bell rang.

Another rabbit punch knocked 45-year-old Hopkins to the canvas in the eighth and a low blow in the 10th also sent him to his knees.

Hopkins, however, continued to control the contest and was a unanimous victor - Judges Don Trella and Glenn Trowbridge both scored it 117-110 for 'The Executioner' with Dave Moretti going for 118-109.

The 45-year-old acknowledged he had been in a tough bout at Mandalay Bay.

"It was kind of rough. He's a warrior. He's a veteran and a good fighter. I have been hit in the back of the head before, but in the gym with head gear on," Hopkins said after the fight.

Jones wasn't as upbeat after the fight and believed he could have been disqualified after his rabbit punch in the sixth round.

He said: "I was worried the first time. I knew if I was fouled too much I would have been disqualified. I wanted to give the fans what they wanted. I tried to do that tonight."
