Support for Fianna Fáil slips in wake of Anglo controversy

New Sunday Business Post/Red C poll shows Fine Gael regaining some ground

Support for Fianna Fáil has dropped in recent days, a new poll from the Sunday Business Post shows.

The Red C poll, which will be published in tomorrow's Sunday Business Post, shows support for Fianna Fáil slipped four points to 22 per cent , with Fine Gael gaining two points to 28 per cent.

Labour and Sinn Fein also edge up one point each, bringing them to 12 per cent and 17 per cent respectively. Independents remain at 21 per cent.

The poll was conducted following the revelations contained in the Anglo tapes.

Fianna Fáil had been building up support in recent months, with the latest Irish Times/Ipsos MRBI poll showing the party held 26 per cent of the voters’ support, compared with 24 per cent support for Fine Gael and 9 per cent for labour.
