Strike action by 700 construction workers due to begin yesterday at the £300 million Xerox plant at Haggardstown, Dundalk, has been averted. The dispute concerned a finishing bonus which has affected work on the 104-acre construction site. The resolution follows negotiations yesterday between the unions, TWU and SIPTU, and the CIF, representing contractors. Strike action was issued following a ballot on February 3rd.
