A house cat explores the world of insects in this seek-and-find book which displays original artistic style and a startling use of green and white colour. Alas, the text does not meet the quality of the illustration.Drawing Made Very Easy, by Terry Myler (Children's Press, £2.95), introduces the basics of shapes and shading. While the cartoon illustrates imply an audience as young as six, the level of comprehension and dexterity requires a minimum of 10.More Alive-0 Stories and Poems, by Clare Maloney, illustrated by Jeanette Dunne (Veritas, £4.99). Bright, lively pictures with a mixed bag of stories and poems, one of which describes the growth of a frog in perfect miniature lines which conclude: "hearts beat/tails delete/frog's complete".
