The Northern Area Health Board has said it will proceed with plans to move six residents of St Ita's psychiatric service into a home in the rural area of Lispopple, near Swords, and that it had attempted to address the concerns of local people at a recent meeting.

Repairs costing about £30,000 have just been completed after damage was caused to the house by vandals. Local residents insist that the alleged perpetrators are not representative of their views and do not live in their midst.

The Lispopple residents have been invited to nominate a representative to the management committee for Carlton House and also to visit similar NAHB group homes.
