Premiership soccer club Tottenham Hotspur warned today it expects to report a loss of a full-year loss of £5 million sterling due to the collapse of the player transfer market.

The club - which has a stock exchange listing - warned that as a result of losses on "player disposals", it expected to announce a loss before tax for the year to June 30th, 2003.

The club also confirmed it is considering a further round of fundraising in conjunction with its advisers to secure new funds.

No decision has been taken on the size or the terms of a possible issue, which may or may not proceed, the club said.
