A British soldier has appeared in court charged with the murder of a colleague at an army barracks in Co Derry at the weekend.
Private John Michael Smith (24), of the Green Howards regiment was charged with murdering Private Dean Troy Eddy (21) from Middlesbrough.
He was shot dead while on guard duty with Private Smith at Shackleton Barracks in Ballykelly on Saturday night.
The accused was remanded in custody until September 29th.
