A man banned from driving for life in 1998 was convicted yesterday of another drink-driving offence and jailed for six months. Jason Ward (32), of Clondalkin, pleaded guilty to drink-driving on the Naas Road on July 6th last.

Dublin District Court heard he had 10 previous convictions. A drink-driving conviction in February 1998 earned him a life ban and a three-month jail sentence. Judge Patrick Brady jailed him and fined him £675.
