A mother and her two sons escaped unhurt when shots were fired at a house in Dunamanagh, Strabane, Co Tyrone, at 11.30 p.m. on Wednesday.

A man emerged from a car, which had driven to the remote farmhouse on the Longland road outside the town, and fired six shots. Most of the bullets hit the roof of the house but one pierced the kitchen window.

The family has claimed loyalists were responsible and said they don't know why they were targeted. Police said they have yet to establish a motive.
