MALAWI - Heads of State of the Southern African Development Community (SADC) opened their doors to the Democratic Republic of Congo and the Republic of Seychelles this week, writes Mary McCaughey. The adhesion of the former Zaire and the Indian Ocean island brings the total membership of the regional trade and economic body to 14. Among other members are Lesotho, Namibia, Tanzania, Zimbabwe, South Africa, and Malawi.
