Play in the men's semi-finals at Wimbledon resumed at just after 5 p.m this afternoon after a 4 1/2-hour rain delay.

Champion Roger Federer had broken Frenchman Sebastien Grosjean and was just about to serve for a 4-2 lead in the first set when the rain started falling at 12.30 p.m.

Organisers have moved the second semi-final between Andy Roddick and Mario Ancic from centre to number one court in an effort to get both matches finished before the end of play.

Showers are forecast to continue for the rest of the day with some dry periods in the early evening.

Rain is also expected tomorrow when the women's final between Serena Williams and Maria Sharapova is scheduled to take centre stage.

After two days were lost to the weather in the first week, forcing organisers to schedule games on the middle Sunday, the first two days of the second week escaped the rain.

Despite rain on Wednesday and Thursday, the tournament was back on schedule to finish with the men's finals on Sunday before today's disruption.
