A search is currently taking place for a 14-year-old boy who fell into the river this afternoon while fishing at the River Foyle near Saint Johnson, in Co Donegal.
A spokesperson for the Malin Head Coast Guard said the boy slid into the river and was swept away by an incoming tide at around 6pm this evening.
The Coast Guard helicopter, two boats from the Green Castle Coast Guard service and the Foyle Search and Rescue team are all involved in the search for the teenager.
Elsewhere, an 11-year-old boy is recovering in hospital in Limerick this evening after being airlifted to safety by the coastguard service earlier today.
The boy was injured in an abseiling accident in Newport, Co Tipperary this afternoon.
