The first wave of the €635 million investment to develop and research the State's biotechnology, computer and communications sector has been included in next year's budget Estimates.

Science Foundation Ireland (SFI), the foundation for excellence in scientific research, has €635 million to invest in research in the State by 2006 under the terms of the National Development Plan. This first wave of funding will benefit 10 research projects awarded funding by SFI last summer.
