IRISH TIMES Science Editor Dick Ahlstrom was last night made an honorary fellow of the British Science Association. He was recognised for his “many years of dedicated service writing accurate and engaging articles”.
The association said Ahlstrom brought “an assurance of reliable and responsible reporting” to the British Science Festival each year. Sir Roland Jackson, chief executive of the British Science Association said Dick “was instrumental in the hugely successful festival we had in Dublin in 2005”. The award was presented at the association’s annual dinner in Bradford on the last day of the festival.
