SC nominated to fill High Court vacancy

THE Government has nominated Mr Philip O'Sullivan SC for appointment by the President as a judge of the High Court

THE Government has nominated Mr Philip O'Sullivan SC for appointment by the President as a judge of the High Court. The vacancy arose on the appointment of Mr Justice Henry Barron to the Supreme Court last month.

Mr O'Sullivan's practice as a barrister concentrated on planning, administrative and company law. He has written one book and coauthored two others on Irish planning law. Educated at Crescent College in Limerick, Glenstal Abbey, UCC, UCD and the King's Inns, he was called to the Bar in 1969 and to the Inner Bar in 1982.
