Honda's Michael Rutter has won the opening Superbike race at the North West 200 races in Northern Ireland today.

The Leicestershire rider is now just one victory away from becoming the fourth most successful in the history of the NW road races.

He won today's opener ahead of Jim McGuinness with local favourite Adrian Archibald in third place.

Rutter has now equalled the nine victories achieved by his father Tony.
